All you need to know about domain names and web hosting to help you set up rapidly and make the most of our services.

  Email Catch-all

A catch all, or default, email address allows you to intercept all email messages addressed to a non-existent recipient at your domain name and redirect them to a valid email address. Catch-alls prevent erroneously addressed email messages from being returned to the sender as being undeliverable.

For example, you may have set up sales@ and support@example.com.au, but someone accidentally mistypes and sends an email to sale@. Without a catch-all email address configured, you could miss such emails and potentially lose thousands of dollars in sales!

As long as you have specified in preferences section of your control panel an email address to 'catch' these wayward emails, then you will still get the email.

The catch-all you specify can be one you have already created, eg. sales@example.com.au or an external email address associated with a completely different domain you may have, or an external email service such as GMail.

You can add or edit a catchall email address for any domain through your hosting account secure web-based control panel - we also offer a video tutorial on how to set up a catch-all email address.

Note: one of the drawbacks of a catch-all email address can be spam. As some spam operations use "shotgun" tactics such as sending email to a variety of common email address prefixes, you may find the catch-all increases the amount of spam you need to wade through; even with our advanced spam filters that intercept the vast bulk of spam email as an initial screen.

This catch-all feature is offered free with all of our email and web hosting packages!

The catch-all functionality is just another way Domain Registration Services helps online businesses to streamline email communications, enhance productivity and maximise your profits!
